What is the decision to join the company?

In the familiar Kansai region
I would like to be involved in the development of station Naka.

In job hunting, we did not narrow down the number of industries and occupations, and participated in a wide range of briefings, including manufacturers, department stores, and developers. However, when I was a student, I worked part-time under the Depa basement of a department store, and I really enjoyed interacting with customers while serving customers, so I also wanted to work related to the store.
I learned about the existence of JR West Daily Service Net through information from a friend. At that time, station Naka development began to be carried out in the Kanto region, and Kansai is still about to come. It is a business field with high potential, and it was a great attraction to be involved in the development of station Naka in the familiar Kansai region. At the interview, I was glad that the executives spread my story as a student and made it easier to answer. I was told that it was a company with a good atmosphere.

What have you been involved in?

After training at Kiosk and Heart Inn, my twenties managed the operation and management of three new businesses: Ekinaka Super, Internet Cafe, and side dish store. Unfortunately, none of our businesses are profitable and we do not remain. The success rate of new businesses is generally said to be about 10%. However, since I didn't want to repeat this experience again, I learned practical marketing at the Graduate School of Professionals for two years from my sixth year at the company. My major at university was business administration, but learning after learning about the field as a member of society is completely different. The balance between work and graduate school was more difficult than I imagined. However, learning at that time served as a guide for my work, and it still supports me.
Since 2020, he has been appointed manager of a souvenir specialty store at JR Shin-Osaka Station. Just three days after the arrival of the COVID-19 pandemic, the store was closed. The souvenir shop, which had been in good sales, changed completely after the impact of COVID-19, and in such a situation, I thought out what I could do as a store manager. In conclusion, the most focused effort was to maintain the motivation of employees and staff. In order to be able to work properly on customer service even in an uneasy environment where we could not see the future, we worked with each and every one of us seriously to overcome the problems of the COVID-19 pandemic. Fortunately, the number of customers gradually increased, and the great harvest was that we were able to develop a sense of product from the customer's point of view, what are the elements required for souvenirs, such as "cute", "talking on SNS", and "let the other party be pleased".
Currently, as a leader in the souvenir business, we are dealing with more than 400 companies in the Kansai area to introduce new products and jointly develop original products. Recently, we have expanded our business to areas other than Kansai. In a buyer's job, no matter how many transactions you have, polite negotiations with each company are required. In addition, since it becomes "my remarks = company remarks", I always try to carefully select words in business negotiations. There are various hurdles until products are lined up in actual stores, such as quality control to ensure safety and security, but if you see the purchased products lined up at the sales floor and the shops are crowded with customers, the difficulties up to that point will blow up.
The future goal is to further evolve the present souvenir shop for the Osaka and Kansai Expo to be held in 2025. Our goal is to convey the charm of Japanese souvenirs to customers from all over the world.

What is your job worth and commitment?

The most rewarding thing is that products filled with thoughts are supported by customers.

It is the most rewarding and pleasure that the souvenirs that have been negotiated with our business partners and lined up safely in the store are supported by our customers. Souvenirs are purchased in consideration of someone given to you. Our mission is to provide "valuable products" that can only carry that feeling. On the other hand, the souvenirs we have purchased are packed tightly with the commitment of each company, and I would like to convey and sell the thoughts of the creator properly. When the customer is given a souvenir, he says, “This product has such a story.…“It would be great if you could tell someone.” When I was the manager of a souvenir shop, customer service was really fun and I talked a lot with customers. Thanks to this, I think that I am involved in purchasing operations with the customer's perspective first more than anyone else.

At each store, the staff responds to customers and educates each of them is the store managers and other store employees. When I was the manager of a souvenir store at Shin-Osaka Station, I was only grateful to the employees and staff who responded sincerely to customers in Golden Week, Obon, New Year's holidays, and long lines. I think this field power is the foundation of our appeal. Moved by the power of the front-line site staff, he has a passion for saying, "I want to support more and support the site!" It's a company that has a lot of people like that.
