What is the decision to join the company?

The warm atmosphere felt during briefings and interviews
“I am sure you can work here with peace of mind.”

During job hunting, I visited many companies, especially without narrowing down the type of business and occupation. What attracted me was a business that is closely related to life and is easy to understand how it is useful for living. While studying food manufacturers, electrical equipment manufacturers, etc., I happened to meet West Japan Railway Daily Service Net on a job hunting site. At that time, the main company was station shops and souvenir shops, and when I was a child, when I was traveling with my family, I remembered that I was looking forward to shopping at the station between long train travel and selling in-car sales, and I was familiar with the business contents I felt
At the briefings and interviews, I touched on the warm atmosphere that flows throughout the company while interacting with recruiters and bosses, and I was convinced that "I can work with peace of mind here." At that time, the station Naka business was attracting attention due to the launch of the ecute at Shinagawa Station, and I felt that this company would be able to do interesting work that will help people live in the West Japan area."

What have you been involved in?

Stores, management planning, station improvement, adoption.
I would like to use the experience gained in various tasks to develop human resources.

After on-site training at stores, he was assigned to the Company Management Office (currently the Company Marketing Headquarters). I was involved in the management planning business of the entire company, including subsidiaries. After that, he was seconded to JR West to coordinate and negotiate the development of commercial facilities associated with the improvement of the station. After the secondment, I have been working in the Human Resources Department until now, and I am in charge of personnel affairs. Through these job rotations, I was conscious of acquiring a wide range of business knowledge, and learned the roles customers want from our company, the management status of subsidiaries, and how to approach coordination and negotiation with affiliates. In addition, I was able to learn about our work environment and the thoughts of employees working in stores through personnel-related operations (recruitment, formulation of personnel plans, work environment improvement, etc.).
Obtained maternity leave and childcare leave from July 2013. In our company, childcare leave is allowed until the child is 2 years old. In April 2015, I returned to the Human Resources Department Working Group from 9:00 to 16:00 to return to the child's nursery school.
From the following year, the Human Resources Research Group and Company Human Resources Project conducted revisions to the personnel system in line with the times and work styles, as well as to improve the efficiency of personnel operations, including group companies, and to improve the quality of operations. In addition, with the aim of exploring the potential of personnel, recruitment, and career advancement systems that transcend the boundaries of the company, we have formulated the direction of personnel management and operations of the entire product sales and food and beverage company as a whole, aiming for 2030. After that, he was in charge of improving the work environment and welfare in the working group, and then transferred to the Education Group of the Human Resources Department. Currently, he is in charge of training for human resource development, such as training for new employees, rank-specific training after joining the company, and management training.

What is your job worth and commitment?

In addition to responding flexibly to changes in the times,
I would like to foster a rich life for employees.

I have been in charge of various tasks so far, but in every business, it is essential to collaborate with various people from other companies and other departments in the company. For this reason, while raising my own knowledge and experience, I have been trying to grasp the situation and exchange opinions through careful interviews from the other party's standpoint so that unilateral opinions are not imposed or desk theory is not imposed. Was. In addition, we actively collected information on law revisions and business movements so that we could respond appropriately when we received inquiries.
Currently, I am involved in human resource development and education, and I have the opportunity to engage with people from various positions, such as people from a wide range of ages, departments, and affiliated companies. Through training and interaction with participants in the past, I have been able to have a different perspective and realize that it has led to self-development, so I want to be able to provide a lot of such opportunities. I think that changes in people's lifestyles, values, and social environment will continue to grow in the future.
We will continue to expand our horizons and work to develop the skills we need and the skills that will lead to the rich lives of each employee.

What is the charm of this company?

There is a wide range of active fields and an environment where women can continue to work.

Our company has a wide range of operations, mainly in the JR West area, such as the development of commercial facilities at stations, direct-operated stores such as convenience stores and souvenir shops, and business hotels, so there are fields where people with various characteristics can play an active role. It is also attractive that women are easy to work. When I joined the company, I was not particularly enthusiastic about "I want to continue working after marriage and childbirth." However, I have seen seniors return and play an active role after maternity leave and childcare leave, so I chose that path myself. The other day, I just heard from an executive that I would like to focus more on the company so that women can continue to work for a long time even if their life stages change. In this way, we have the opportunity to talk directly with the management team, and the distance is close.

Messages to job hunters

What I want to tell the job hunting students again is that it is a very valuable time that any company can see in the name of job hunting. If you get a job, it will be difficult to have contact with a company other than the business partner depending on the job content and affiliation. Companies that are interested in even a little without limiting their aspirations from the beginning should participate in briefings more and more. That experience will surely be a source of food for the future, and I think there are exciting encounters ahead of seeing many companies.
